As an Environmental Strategy Consultant, Rob specializes in providing his clients with tactical advice on integrating and managing sustainability practices. Rob has over 20 years of environmental and social management experience and has proven himself to be a detail-focused and results-driven professional.
Rob is a member of the Camosun College Environmental Technology Advisory Committee and the University of Victoria Alumni Association’s Career Advisor program. He is a past Chair of both the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Environment Committee and the BC Hydro PowerSmart Awards Committee. He was also a founding Board member of both the Victoria Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the Green Victoria Challenge Society. Most recently, Rob was asked to join the Oak Bay Climate Change Task Force, where he Chairs the Lifestyles Sub-committee.
Rob has presented to dozens of organizations and associations over the years, and has been a presenter at numerous sustainable industry trade shows. For 4 years, he wrote a column on sustainability in a local Victoria newspaper, reaching over 300,000 readers monthly.
Prior to founding Planterra in 2003, Rob worked in the public sector in a number of capacities, including as Senior Regional Recycling Coordinator for the Capital Regional District. Rob has an academic background in Economics, and is a member of the Project Management Institute.
